James Purcell Small was a graduate from Florida A & M University.  He Began his thirty-five (35) years of coaching and teaching at Franklin Street Grammar School , the name change to Matthew W. First Annual Scholarship Banquet Program

The 3rd Annual J.P. Small Foundation “Scholarship and Hall of Fame Banquet” will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Philippian Church Multipurpose Dinning Hall at 4:30p.m. Tables of eight (8) are $280.00 and individual tickets are $35.00. Sponsor & Ads are available, but need to be in by Tuesday, April 1, 2008. 
 
Keynote speaker will be Rev Charles Scriven, First African-American Sargent of the Police Department of Jacksonville, Florida.
